WELL Building Standard Supports Enrichment of Green Building Standards

ree

The WELL certification covers ten core areas: air quality, water quality, lighting, nutrition, physical activity, thermal comfort, sound environment, materials, mental health, and community engagement. Unlike common green building standards (such as LEED and BEAM+) that primarily focus on environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, material selection, and water conservation, WELL emphasizes how design, operational systems, and management policies can enhance human comfort and work efficiency, thereby promoting the health and well-being of users. In this way, WELL adds a user-centric social dimension to the mainstream green building standards, filling an important gap in the field of sustainable development.
